Super Seuss-y

Time for our annual Christmas tree hunting trip in Snoqualmie-Baker National Forest:

This year Kate, John, and Seb joined us for a COLD tromp through the snow, hot dogs on the fire, and some SUPER scrawny Seuss-ish Christmas Trees.

Can't WAIT to get this thing home and decorated; it is REALLY something special!!

Got Gear?

I'm not sure if we're going to summit Everest or go get a Christamas tree.

Either way, we've got enough gear.

Thankful

Drake has discovered that he is the proud owner of an extremely fascinating and high maintenance piece of equipment which requires constant attention and frequent status checks.

One such check occurred at the Thanksgiving dinner table just as plates were full, wine was topped off, and we were settling in to eat, toast, and be Thankful.

It is EXTREMELY clear what Drake is thankful for (also that he is well suited to be the future owner of a Yugo), and I am thankful for little boys, who are guaranteed to keep me on my toes for a VERY long time!!

Turkey Day

We had an emergency trip to the fish market to compensate for an undersized Organic Pastured Turkey, but really, it wouldn't be a Washington Thanksgiving without Sockeye anyway.

More photos to come....Captain Mommy didn't get any good pics.
Stand by.

Rowing to the moon

Grandpa is making fast progress on his new ocean rowing dory.

Drake decided that it looks like a space ship, so Grandpa has invited him to row to the moon.

The moon is 238,854 miles away. If they average three miles per hour, that's 79,618 hours of rowing. That's 3,317 days or 9 years.

Grandpa asked Drake to start a list of provisions.

Drakes List:

Seaweed
Rice Crackers
Reindeer Jerky
Toys

Uncharted Territory

Today we ventured into the exciting new world of the "Play-date".

Probably even more exciting for Mommies and Daddies than for little boys.
It hints at the future possibility of reading a book or solo grocery shopping...

Gracie

Goat Farm

This weekend was the first official gathering at Grandpa Lar and Connie's new digs, "The Goat Farm".

Just to be clear, there are not now, never have been, and most likely never will be goats on this property. No one seems quite sure where this name came from, but it's sticking.

We had tractor driving lessons,

Checked out the future site of many camp-outs and sword fights (Bess seems to think that this little grove ought to be reserved for her little girls' Fairy Princess Land, but since said little girls don't actually exist yet, we Stewarts have claimed it for tree forts, zip lines, and dirt digging.
No fairy dust allowed. Sorry, Auntie.

The funky double-wide trailer will disappear soon, to be replaced with the Dream House.

This is the Dream Woodshop/boat storage barn (with greenhouse!)

Elaine can't wait to come visit and mow the lawn.

Maybe this extra fancy lawnmower is just what we need to get Uncle Goopy out to the West Coast for a visit; I bet this is one lawnmower that he CAN'T resist!

More Free Fun!

We checked out the Tacoma Children's Museum on "First Friday Free Day".

Ewan was absolutely blown away that such an incredible place exists on the planet Earth.

Drake spent A LOT of time carefully selecting, weighing, and ringing up his plastic veggies, while Little Brother busied himself with trying to wake up everyone who was silly enough to be wasting precious time napping in the stroller parking area.

Check up

Ewan went for a joy ride at the Pediatrician's office while waiting for his one year check up.

He is, of course, perfect in all ways, except our NP, Miki says we need to fatten him up a bit!
Haha...
It's totally possible that she has never seen a 1 year old that MOVES as much as this one.
When he's not moving, he's eating....
actually, he's usually doing both at the same time.

This is Teddy the "Therapy Dog" who hangs out at the clinic.
He likes to lounge on the exam tables.
He also has his own Facebook page.
