Peacocks and Sharks

Pope

Yesterday was the arrival of The Pope (aka Marti).

Pope is notorious with the TSA screeners in San Francisco for carrying more toys than clothes in her luggage.

Bridge

This is the Golden Gate Bridge (where Pope lives). She will be here in FOUR days!

This weekend we had actual sunshine!

We also had a quick overnight visit from Uncle Evan who is hard at work on Tacoma Opera's La Boeme (he also reads really good bedtime stories).

We woke up today to MORE snow!!
Drake says he will NEVER EVER EVER go outside until "the sun comes out and the snow goes AWAY!"

Comedy Hour

It's been a while since I've put up any great Drake quotes (mostly because lately they're all anatomy related. Totally funny, but not necessarily blog-able if I want to avoid attracting Creepy Internet Weirdos).
Here are a few good clean ones:

"Do you think there are Space Donkeys in outer space?"

"I'm Spongebob Spiderpants, and I can shoot water balls!!"

"My nightlight reflects the dreams and the dream catcher catches them.
When the sun comes up it melts the dreams.
My nightlight and dream catcher and the sun are all friends."

"I need to use up all of the other dreams before I can unlock the camping dreams in my head."

"Mommy do you know what a bargain looks like?"

(sympathetically) "Mommy, do you even know what plankton looks like?"

"Look Mommy! Me and baby are sharing (a treat)"
translation: I ate mine, and now I'm eating Baby's.

"I want to fall asleep in this book."

The name of the invisible elephant at Grandpa's house:
"Sausaloopypoop"

Method Actor

Miss Jennifer reported that Peter Pan not only stayed in character for the duration of preschool today, but also assigned characters to everyone else and led an adventure through the outdoor classroom.
He also insisted on being addressed as Peter Pan during the "Goodbye Song".

Later in the afternoon, we received a special shipment of Molokai red dirt (which helps ease the disappointment of our volcano not producing any dirt).

Peter broke character briefly to build a racetrack in Radiator Springs.

Second star to the right....

And straight on to Preschool!

We have now been instructed (by Peter Pan) that we all have new names, and can't use our old names any more:
Daddy is Captain Hook,
Ewan is Michael,
Roger is Smee,
And I, of course, was REALLY hoping for Tinkerbell, but that honor went to Tess (the dog, not the Aunt) so Mommy gets to be Wendy.

Surprise

Drake says "I'm all done with snow, we've had enough".
Good thing we've got another Hawaii trip on the books already!

Begging chickens

This cracks me up!
Mima is gardening with an entire flock of chickens breathing down her neck. The begging pays off, because every time she finds a worm, she tosses it over her shoulder to the lurking crowd.
Pretty funny.

Mt Drakewan

This is turning out to be a very active volcano (go figure).

It has erupted three times so far, and the natives are restless, which seems to indicate imminent volcanic activity.

This volcano spews different colored lava at each eruption.
I'm pretty sure that at this point, all that's left in the earth's core (the kitchen) is green lava.

Last night's blue eruption left sparkly blue dust all over the mountain:

Mad Scientists

Today was volcanic eruption day!

Yesterday our volcano got a nice coat of purple paint.

Safety first.
