If you've never seen a giraffe riding a sheepdog, you probably just haven't been to Sunday Dinner at the Basecamp lately.
The Adventures of Team Stewart. Current population; two very sleep deprived parents, one spunky first grader, a fearless little brother, and an ever changing assortment of pets, livestock, and boats.

Better than Preschool
This week Ewan discovered High School!
We went to Thomas Jefferson High to be guest speakers in Auntie Bess' biology classes (Actually, it was more like one guest speaker, and one very small and amazingly flirty firefighter).
Lots and lots of high school girls got drenched with the imaginary fire hose (They were on FIRE, apparently).
Little was also very impressed with the football field.

Progress
Construction at the Goat Farm is in high gear.
It's almost time for Mommy to help lay down sub-floor!
It's amazing how many interesting bits and pieces are generated by "growing a WOOD HOUSE".
The minivan is FULL of little building blocks, "crackers", and train tracks stolen from the construction site.

Dress up Thursday
And now for a little after dinner entertainment:
Meet Firefighter Spiderman, Grumpy Tinkerbell, Santa Captain Hook, and Snowboots Peter Pan....because "this is just a different episode of Peter Pan".

Still trying
Today Ewan packed up a lunchbox (with nothing but rice cakes), went to the head of the line, and marched into Drake's classroom like he belonged.
Mrs. Kirbawy said she's never seen a kid so ready to go to school.

Note to self:
Check average annual rainfall before planning camping trips (102" in Cougar).
This was the most rain I've seen since monsoon season in Thailand, but we had two heaters, an indoor clothesline, and two little boys who love puddles, so we still had a pretty good time.
(Also Grandpa took our bedding to the laundromat while Mommy and Daddy were off snowshoeing on Saturday!)

Easter
Aunt Emily hosted a great Easter brunch at her new apartment (4 blocks from our house).
It was absolutely amazing, except for the sad news that Cousin Gracie is packing up for a BIG MOVE across the pond.
I guess it's time for the Basecamp to start practicing our German and saving our Euros for a visit!
