Other people's adventures

I know this is supposed to be all about OUR adventures, but we're in a sort of adventure void at the moment, so I thought I would share someone else's....it's just too cool NOT to.

If you read the post about Sunday Dinner guests, this may (or may not) make sense; This adventure belongs to Child of new "Friend" of Ex Parent (who I very much hope will make it to Sunday Dinner once his adventure is over).

Check it out:

Drake helps set the table

Sunday Dinner

We recently instituted "Sunday Dinner" at our house. This is basically an open invite to any and all members of our friends and family who are free and hungry on any Sunday. This can result in a pretty mixed bag of characters from our tangled family tree.

Likely attendees to our Sunday Dinner include actual biological parents (Jennie, Larry, and Marti when she's in town), "friends" of parents (Connie), ex step parents (Martin), new "friends" of ex- step parents (Lisa), ex "friends" of ex step parents (Mira or Sage), children of ex step parents (Evan or Caroline), children of children of ex step parents (Grace), children of "friends" of parents (Bess), and tonight, half siblings of children of "friends" of parents (Kit).
If you REALLY want to get technical, Kit is a re-half brother to Bess. Seriously. Their parents (Connie's ex) got together, making them half siblings, then divorced, then back together; So re-half sibling of child of friend of parent.
Did you follow that? I totally didn't make it up; I'm not that creative!

More Drakisms

Drake just informed me that the Daddy on the Peter Pan movie "ate too much sugar".
(that's why he's such a grump, apparently.)

Last night I showed Drake the compass that Uncle Goopy gave him when he was born. I told him that he and Daddy would go for a hike and learn how to use it, but I guess I forgot to tell him what it was called, because a little while later he asked:
"Why did he get me that Path Clock?"

Breakfast and Boats

Dad'n had a big drill today for the Big Oil Honchos and the Department of Ecology, so the boys and I had a picnic breakfast at Thea Foss park and watched the action.

It's genetic

Apparently the urge to stuff your family into a small vehicle and travel great distances is in the DNA;

This is Drake and Ewan's Great Grandpa Stewart with his Mommy, Daddy, and 4 brothers and sisters traveling across the country in 1936. In true Stewart fashion, this thing is totally "modified".

Preschool!

We started out strong, but got a little less sure once we got in the door.

Luckily he was dressed perfectly to camouflage with the carpet.

I sure hope his first day gets a little better....

Agards and Krauses

Somehow in that frantic flurry of an East Coast Expedition, I didn't manage to get a single photo of a Krause. Possibly because nobody sits still in that house for long enough to snap a photo.

I DO have some fantastic video of Tristan crashing around like an elephant on tranquilizers after having his wisdom teeth removed, but I think I'll keep that to myself for now...
you just never know when something like that might become usefull....

Someone is very happy to have her Boy back.

Careys

Ewan showed Des how fun it is to tear up National Geographic

And in return, Des gave him a snack.

D is a man of few words, but Peepee is one of them. What on earth do kids without dogs ever find to talk about??
