Clear as mud

Today we figured out why we've had such a hard time making heads or tails of the camping permit rules around here.....

It's illegal to sleep in your vehicle in Hawaii.

Breakin' the law....

  1. Uh oh. Ticket? Or just a warning?

  2. Neither, just someone finally told us the truth when we tried to get a permit. I think our problem here is that we tend to follow rules.
Another couple in a camper van just told us to camp wherever we want and say that we're sleeping in the tent on TOP of our vehicle.
Or apparently we can just claim to be fishing. That's like the secret password or something.
    I don't know.

  3. I have learned as the years go by that just lying works more often than my Quaker upbringing ever gave me to realize. Unless it's something really important to them, most people would rather just let it go than take the trouble of pointing out that you are lying and getting into it with you.
