Bell St

We spent the weekend cleaning almost all of the last of our junk out of the Bell St house and helping the new owner, Andi and her mom with some little house projects to ensure that all goes smoothly with closing.

Yes, this is an extremely unconventional way to work a real estate deal, but much more civilized too.

Not our chalkboard wall anymore.

Daddy's little Jalopy did 6 dump runs packed to the gills (the new house has NO storage).

  1. That was a GOOD house. Happy boys, happy dogs, happy rabbits, happy chickens. Little boys riding bikes and/or Dadn down the sidewalk to Mima's house. Drake's very own red tree he'd hide behind when John came to take him to the dog park. And the apple/ball tree in the back.

    That was a GOOD house.

  2. It was a REALLY good house, and I only cried once telling Andi that. She promptly bought me a bottle of wine and promised to love it forever.

Of course, there's a chance that means something entirely different to a 22 year old roller derby massage therapist than it does to me, but the sentiment is good.

  3. There's something about that house: remember the stories of the builder's son: how they took in travelers from Norway and then how they lost the house in the Depression. That house accommodates a lot of living - and a lot of loss.
